Ok…fast forward ahead >>> starting from the entry of the High Line near the Standard Hotel, speed through to somewhere near the midpoint of the path where we find a gelato stand and pause || We order some gelato and wonder… “Where is the striped play area of the highline?” (AOL’s Rainbow City). As we walk along the Highline, we hear music playing at the Pier >>> lounge in gardens of tall grass grown over the remains of the old train tracks and watch city traffic become framed into a street performance. Finally at the end of the path, we arrive at Rainbow City a.k.a. the ‘kids’ play area, where we were greeted by a world of stripes! We also noticed there were no kids to be found – A Giant moon bounce (full of adults), floating inflatable blobs that can almost knock you over and an ice cream sandwich truck called Cool Haus. Amazing to be surrounded by all this in the middle of an urban setting!
